🌙 Eid Announcement 🌙
Shawal 1447 / 2026
🌙✨ EID MUBARAK! Eid is Tomorrow, Insha Allah (03/20/2026) ✨🌙
May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and du‘a, and allow us to complete Ramadan with forgiveness and mercy. Hilal WAS SIGHTED today by multiple sources on the East Coast, marking the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1447 AH. Please remember to keep our community and the Ummah in your du‘as as we welcome the joy and gratitude of Eid.
🕌 Eid Prayer
✅ Eid Salah is tomorrow, Friday, March 20, 2026, at 8:15 AM sharp, Insha Allah.
Please arrive early so we can begin on time.
✅ Zakat al-Fitr Reminder
Zakat al-Fitr is $15 per person and must be paid to the Imam before the Eid prayer. Please make sure it is given on time so it reaches those in need, Insha Allah.
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) obligated Zakat al-Fitr as purification for the fasting person and as food for the needy, and it should be given before the prayer. The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
«مَنْ أَدَّاهَا قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَهِيَ زَكَاةٌ مَقْبُولَةٌ وَمَنْ أَدَّاهَا بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ فَهِيَ صَدَقَةٌ مِنَ الصَّدَقَاتِ»
“Whoever gives it before the prayer, it is accepted Zakah. Whoever gives it after the prayer, it is charity among charities.”
🍽️ Community Potluck Meal
We will have a community potluck meal tomorrow, Friday March 20, 2026 immediately after Eid prayer, Insha Allah. Please bring a dish to share if you are able, and label ingredients if possible.
As we gather for Eid prayer, keep in mind what Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said about the joy of Ramadan and Eid:
«لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ فَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ»
“The fasting person has two moments of joy, one when he breaks his fast, and one when he meets his Lord.”
✅Sunnah Practices for Eid
Before Eid prayer, make ghusl, wear your best clean clothes, and apply fragrance (for men). It is also from the Sunnah to eat an odd number of dates before Eid al-Fitr prayer, and to recite the Takbeer on the way to the prayer:
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil-hamd
After the prayer, stay for the khutbah if possible, take a different route home if you can, and greet one another with joy, saying: Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum.
Allahumma taqabbal minna siyamana wa qiyamana wa salihana.
O Allah, accept from us our fasting, our night prayers, and our good deeds.
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anna.
O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and You love to forgive, so forgive us.
Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka Antas-Sami‘ul-‘Aleem, wa tub ‘alayna innaka Antat-Tawwabur-Raheem.
Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. And turn to us in mercy. Indeed You are the Accepting of repentance, the Most Merciful.
Jazakum Allahu Khair 💞

Expanding Our Masjid: Everyone’s Effort, Everyone’s Reward
“The believers are like a structure, each part supporting the other”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
If we truly wish to see our masjid grow to meet the needs of our expanding community—with a new school for our children, a larger and more comfortable prayer space for our sisters, and many essential updates—it must be a collective responsibility, not the burden of a few. These blessings are for everyone who contributes, regardless of the amount. This is not a time for spectatorship—it is a time for sincere action. Let’s all rise together to support this house of Allah!
